Two 3000W Handheld Laser Welding Machines Shipped to Motorcycle Exhaust Pipe Manufacturer
Chongqing Chuke Intelligent Machinery & Equipment Co., Ltd. has recently shipped two 3000W handheld laser welding machines to a customer specializing in the production of motorcycle exhaust pipes. This order represents a significant upgrade from the customer’s previous purchase of a 1500W unit last year, driven by the desire for higher welding efficiency.
From 1500W to 3000W: A Performance-Driven Upgrade
Last year, the customer purchased a 1500W handheld laser welding machine equipped with a Raycus RFL C1500 laser source. The welding results met quality expectations, but the processing speed fell short of their efficiency targets. After in-depth technical discussions, the decision was made to upgrade to two 3000W units for this new order.

Laser Source Selection: MAX for Reliability
For the new 3000W systems, Chongqing Chuke adopted laser sources from MAX (Max Photonics). In the low to medium power continuous fiber laser segment, MAX lasers offer advantages in reliability and operational stability. For the customer’s 3000W application, the enhanced stability of the MAX laser source was determined to be the optimal fit.

Manual Operation Remains Essential
The customer manufactures a wide variety of exhaust pipe models and specifications with small batch sizes per production run. Under these conditions, fully automated welding is difficult to achieve, and skilled manual operation remains the most flexible and cost-effective solution.

The 3000W systems deliver significantly higher welding speeds, enabling deeper penetration and faster throughput on thick-walled exhaust pipes while maintaining the advantages of low heat input and minimal distortion.
