Challenge & Initial Engagement

The customer needs to attend top-quality EN 1.4306/304L and 1.4404/316L European Grade steels, ensuring corrosion resistance coupled with excellent mechanical properties. They also faced challenges achieving consistent, high-contrast scribing marks on these materials endured surface fidelity challenges.

Testing and Collaboration  

As part of the evaluation process, we created test engravings on standard steel plates with customer-specified designs such as logos, batch codes, or regulatory identifiers. These results served as an indication of what our machine was capable of; however, the customer insisted that they wished to confirm performance using their materials because:  

• Differences in Materials: Marks made on Chinese standards (1.4306/304L) will have European grade composition tolerances, which will affect the mark clarity.
• Application-Specific Requirements: Medical and kitchenware products necessitate that engravings made need to resist degradation during sterilization, cleaning, and abrasion over time.

Currently, we are waiting for the customer’s sample jars to complete additional tests. When these are received, we will:  

1. Adjust engraving settings like pressure, speed, and the stylus used for those materials.  
2. Confirm compliance for depth contrast thresholds and durability of markings against industry-standard stress tests.
3. Showcase improvement achieved over marking compared to the stiff traditional methods used previously by the customer, shown via direct visual comparison.
