Fiber Laser Marking Machine with Code Reader
A fiber laser marking machine with code reader is useful when the buyer does not only need a permanent mark. The production team also needs proof that the QR code, Data Matrix code, serial number or batch code can be read immediately after marking.

When marking plus verification is the right specification
Standalone laser marking is enough when an operator can visually inspect every part. Once the line needs traceability, automatic sorting, MES upload or rework control, the code reader becomes part of the marking station. The Zixu MOPA and fiber laser marking platform can be configured with scanner options such as Keyence, HIK Robotic / HIK Vision or Zebra, then return a Good / No good result to MES or a production-line PLC.
This is the practical difference between a simple laser engraver and a closed-loop marking station. The mark is created, scanned, compared with the expected content, then accepted or rejected before the part moves to the next process.
Typical workflow on a production line
- The operator, MES or PLC sends the part code, work order or serial number.
- The fiber or MOPA laser marks the code on metal, plastic-coated parts or selected industrial surfaces after parameter testing.
- The fixed reader scans the marked code without handheld operation.
- The controller checks readability, code match and grade requirement where grading is configured.
- The station sends OK/NOK feedback for sorting, rework or production record keeping.

What buyers should confirm before ordering
Send the material, surface finish, code size, cycle time target and the expected data source before confirming a machine. For laser configuration, common options include 20W, 30W, 50W or customized power, a 110 x 110 mm or customized field, and fiber or MOPA fiber laser source depending on the material and contrast requirement.
If the code needs grading, the scanner position, lighting, lens distance and fixture repeatability matter as much as laser power. A readable sample made on the real part is better evidence than a generic specification sheet.
