Desktop Scribing Machine with Electric Lifting

Send inquiry

We delivered a desktop pneumatic scribing machine equipped with an automatic Z-axis lifting system that can be integrated into production lines.

An automotive supplier contacted us, hoping to use a scribing machine instead of a pneumatic dot peen marking machine to mark identification codes on metal parts for some of its vehicle models. Because this supplier’s production line is highly automated, the marking system needed to be integrated without major modifications. In addition, the metal parts to be marked are relatively small, and a single marking machine can only mark parts of one size. However, the machine needs to be connected to the MES system to obtain and return serial numbers.

This desktop automatic lifting scribing machine is a customized version of the standard desktop scribing machine. It uses an electric lifting module on the Z-axis, replacing the manual rocker arm and limit device. This design avoids problems such as needle collision when the scribing machine is used on automated production lines. The customer previously used a pneumatic dot peen marking machine, but in order to improve the marking quality and texture on metal parts and enhance its image, the customer chose to replace it with a customized automatic lifting scribing machine. Previously, the customer had already been using a customized conveyor belt.

We used the Thorx-7 controller to meet the customer engineer’s requirements for the MES system’s operating environment and connectivity. This controller is equipped with a tilting touchscreen, a soft keyboard, and a sufficient number of communication interfaces. The controller automatically codes, starts, and ends marking jobs according to the MES system. It also controls the automatic lifting and lowering of the Z-axis at the beginning and end of the process to prevent needle collision during automatic loading and unloading.
